Having a sauna in your home is all the trend these days. Why go to a crowded, public sauna with dozens of half naked – or completely nude and assumedly hairy – people you don’t know, when you can live it up MTV Cribs style with your very own home sauna. There are lots of different variations of saunas on the market today and it is important to think about what you are looking for and which model and style would be right for you and your home. Here are some important factors to think about when considering the benefits of a sauna.
• Do you want a dry or wet sauna? A dry sauna is what most people conjure up in their heads when they think of a sauna in general. The typical wood enclosure and in the case of a Finnish sauna, hot stones you can pour water over to produce a little steam. A wet sauna is more commonly associated with the term “steam room” than a dry sauna is. Both will provide different experiences.
• If you’re going dry, do you want a traditional Finnish sauna or an infrared sauna? A traditional Finnish stone sauna can provide a more authentic feel to your home sauna. The main actual difference is that a Finnish sauna works by heating the air, which in turn heats you. An infrared sauna directly heats your body and doesn’t require the use of any stones or steam. A Finnish sauna may be more expensive; both in the original purchase with the cedar wood it uses and in the long term. The higher temperatures and steam can test the durability of a home sauna.
• What are your size requirements? Are you looking for something portable and small that you can fit into an existing area of your house, or are you looking for an entire and separate outdoor enclosure?
• In addition, are you looking for a private and personal enclave or a party room? The more people you plan on having in your home sauna, the more space you need; and as a result the more likely you will need to build a separate sauna area outside of your house as opposed to inside of it.
• Are you a do-it-yourselfer or a plug-and-play person? If you like to build things yourself, go the Finnish sauna route. For simplicity, infrared saunas come put together and can be easily installed.
• Check your plugs and pipes. Different saunas require different amounts of electricity and some may require the additional use of extra pipes. Figure out the current setup you have or could accommodate before making your final decision.
• And of course, do what feels right. There are plenty of saunas in all spectrums of budgets, including sauna kits, that can be perfect for your needs and desires. Get something that will make you feel at home; after all a sauna is made for you to relax in.

Usually the very first upgrade anyone considers making to their OEM car sound system is to add a subwoofer. It really isn’t surprising since OEM speakers are simply too small and not of sufficient quality to accurately produce low bass frequencies. Subwoofers provide the most immediate improvement one can make to a car audio sound system. Consequently one of the most frequently asked questions is: “How do I select a subwoofer?”
Actually, your selection will depend on several factors such as your personal preferences in music, your budget and available space in your vehicle. The amount of space you have to dedicate to your subwoofer’s enclosure should be the first thing you consider. In the majority of cases, this decision narrows the field very quickly. But what if space is no problem?
Subwoofers range in size from 6” to 18” in diameter. Most are round in shape but in recent years the new square shapes are becoming more and more popular. Materials used in the speaker cones can be made of treated paper, light metals such as aluminum and even various types of composites. Paper cone subwoofers tend to sound the most natural and true to life but paper is the least durable. Aluminum Cone woofers were one of the best materials to use for quick, tight bass response (sound quality applications-SQ) because they produced very low frequencies in small sealed boxes. There are some very good musical subwoofers today that offer excellent sound quality while also presenting exceptional SPL (Sound Pressure Level - An acoustic measurement of sound energy, typically expressed in dB-SPL).
I could go on but if you are considering buying a subwoofer for your vehicle, I strongly suggest you click thru and pick up some tips to make decision making a bit easier.

This time I want to have a look at one of the “4 C’s” of how diamonds are graded. For those that aren’t aware, diamonds are graded in 4 main categories - cut, color, carat and clarity. Let’s have a close look at the last one - clarity.
The clarity grading scale ranges from IF (the best) down to I3 (the worst). In total, there are ten grades that a diamond can fall into.
Clarity refers to the number of “inclusions” that are present in the stone. In a nut-shell, inclusions are small blemishes or imperfections. They occur naturally when the rock is forming in the earth and they can be found in almost all diamonds.
When grading the diamond, a gemologist inspects the diamond under magnification to look at any inclusions that are present. The grading is then decided on the number of inclusions, and also how noticeable or large they are.
As an example, a diamond that has an IF grading has no inclusions whatsoever. This is incredibly rare, and understandably, this type of diamond carries a huge price premium attached to it.
A diamond graded VS2 will have “very slight” inclusions - these will only be noticeable when viewed under a microscope and aren’t noticeable with your naked eye. These diamonds are priced for a lot less that an IF graded diamond.
It’s important to understand the different ways diamonds are graded. Pick up a diamond ring buying guide - you will be pleased you did in the end and will make it possible to save a lot of money on your purchase. Just a little education will be the difference in finding an affordable engagement ring instead of shelling out big bucks and filling your jeweler’s bank account.
