Not too long ago I was asked to write a small review for a boot line called the Hoser Classic from the Muck Boot Company and I agreed but with a lot of hesitation. I have reviewed hundreds of styles and makes of boots that I didn’t think this was going to be anything spectacular. I was also revealed that this was by no means a new line of boots but rather an old one, that’s been around for a decade.
After my Hoser boots arrived, I was immediately impressed at the quality of the boots. The way that the sole and the rubber upper was blended and molded together as one was beautiful. Then there was the nylon upper part of the boot, or the part that fits snug, not tight, just above your ankle.
When I was told that Muck Boots had reinvented the Hoser and promptly named it the Chore, they changed the look and feel, and the sales of the Hoser were still so strong that they continued to provide the boot to customers. This is a strong customer following. It reminds me of when Coke changed their formula to compete with Pepsi and people made such a fuss that they had to offer the classic also. This isn’t quite the media buzz that Coke generated, but it is rather impressive.
After walking around in these boots for about a half an hour, I was pleasantly surprised that there were no pinch points, or nothing that was going to hurt or blister after I took them off. The rubber compound is very pliable so there is essentially no break in period as with leather. Well, I can certainly see how people would get accustomed to this particular line of Muck Boots, they are good. I’m going to continue to wear them.

As the air struts move up and down, the rubber stresses where it folds under. Most Continental air struts will pass a visual inspection because the cracks are hidden. As these cracks become small leaks, sometimes when parked a certain way or the brakes being applied, the compressor runs more than it was designed to. It may continue to pump the car up when started, but it goes down in the evening when parked. When the compressor fails, the car refuses to raise.
