A book stand is a amazing aid for every true book lover. Currently marketed models range from simple wire devices such as the Fold’N'Stow that holds a book at adjustable angles on any flat surface, to the infinitely more elaborate LEVO Bookholder that embraces a book or other reading material in either a floor stand design or a clamp-on design that easily fastens to just about any table, desk, or counter top. Many book stand designs work best with hard cover books, but they also can function quite nicely with paperback books when they are mounted within book holders such as an OpenPage.
The Fold’N'Stow is one of the most affordable of book stands. It folds virtually flat for easy storage and transport and comes with it’s own plastic pouch punched for easy use in a 3 ring binder. It may be placed on a counter top for recipe books, or atop your desk, table, workstation, bench, etc. Wire arms with page holders extend out from the back to secure the covers and open pages of your book, and, by adjusting how far apart the arms are, smaller and larger books are easily accommodated. Incorporating a bookboard which can be adjusted in any plane, and coupled with a book mounting mechanism that will securely hold your book, even in an inverted position, the LEVO allows for totally hand-free reading just about anywhere.
The LEVO Clamp-on model is just as convenient as the LEVO Floor Model, but features a clamp that safely holds any desk, table, counter top, work bench or other flat surface up to 2 inches thick, and offers the same movements as the floor stand model, without the range of telescoping movements vertically. By supporting your book or other reading materials up off the surface to which it is secured, the desk model saves the weight and expense of the weighted rolling base while freeing up valuable work space, since neither your book nor your book holder rest on the surface.
Even though there are other book stand designs now available, the LEVO and Fold’N'Stow book stands have stood the test of time and stand up well to heavy use.
