I had my friend over to check out my new game setup. I told him it was a next generation game console so he probably hoped I had an Xbox 360. Little did he realize that it was a Nintendo Wii. When he showed up he had a look of discontent on his face. He had never used one and had always thought it was the childrens system. I assured him that it was just as fun as the other systems. He slowly took the controller in his hands while I booted up the game.
It wasn’t long before we were both jumping and swinging our way to winning. We were both having a fantastic time and it was clear that he no longer held any reservations about this console. Next came out the nintendo wii accessories and some recent games I had purchased. I had recently purchased two nunchuck controllers and we jumped right into boxing. Several hours later we were both tired from having so much fun and were forced to take a rest.
Not much time passed before we were ready for another round. I loaded up a first person shooter and we continued playing for many hours. My pal was persuaded that the interactivity produced by the Wii accessories made this gaming system a cut above any other he had spent time with. No other video games had ever rendered the same level of interactivity that the Wii did.
The next week he went to the game store and bought a complete system with an added Wii remote controller so he and his family could play. Who knew a game system could bring a family closer together? Previously, my buddy and his sister would never be caught dead playing video games together. Now it’s most likely a daily occurrence.
