Living by the sea for much of my youth I was attracted to the work of Rebecca Lardner as I jogged by a gallery door. The warm colours and soft oil colours provide an earthyness that makes you feel like a watcher peering out from your safe home by the sea.
The Artist Rebecca Lardners work is often set within the enfolding arms of a traditional harbour with constant activity moving in and out like the sea. Frequently you see people and gulls moving about their daily activities all adding character to the pictures. She started her career after completion of an Art Foundation Course she graduated from the University of Liverpool with a BA Honours degree in Illustration.
Following a highly successful time as an artist and illustrator starting out making greeting cards. Rebecca Lardner now makes mostly original art works for magazines and record sleeves she has also done work for Paul McCartneys Music Academy. Influenced by Cornish artist Alfred Wallis her brilliant use of Oils on canvas draws out the feeling of the sea.
Rebecca Lardner has carried out, sought after corporate commissions all over the planet from Ireland to India. Rebecca Lardners work can be found in top calibre galleries across the United Kingdom, her evocative work being sought after all over the planet. I particularly love her paintings because of the feeling she puts into each of the pictures, all of the colours work and the feel you get from her pictures are ones you want to keep returning to for another look.
