Many in the medical community continue to hold the view that diet and acne are not related, but I fear that I must differ. If you suffer from acne it’s because your body has a low tolerance for certain chemicals and/or hormones that are present inside of you, and is using sebum oil in an attempt to get rid the excess. Adding more chemicals and hormones that may be in your food only adds fuel to the fire.
Most of us first experience acne during our teenage years. Your hormone production is pegged on high and your body is getting rid of the excess in sebum oil that is sent out through your skin. This is the root of all pimple formation.
Would you agree that, since your hormone level is already too high, do you think it’s smart to add even more? Any dairy product that you may consume will do just that. The glass of milk you had at breakfast this morning contains fifty nine different hormones plus saturated animal fats and steroids. An effective acne diet will severely limit, or, better yet, eliminate dairy from your diet.
When acne continues into your adult years, the most likely reason is that you have a low tolerance level for chemicals that are in processed foods. Your body’s reaction to these toxins is much the same as it was for hormones. And, it reacts the same way, sending them out in sebum oil that starts your acne outbreaks.
Getting rid of processed foods from your diet is another building block of any good diet for acne prone skin.
Even these small examples show a definite link between what you eat and acne formation. Always remember that the root of your acne is on the inside. The only road to an acne-free life is to eliminate the internal problems and let the acne take care of itself.
